Regional Events

Groups of doctors, medical students and sometimes other health professionals meet from time to time in various centres around the country.  To be notified of meetings in your area by email, contact us.  You can also follow these links to join your region's Facebook group: Auckland, Christchurch, Otago, Waikato, Wellington.

If there is no group active in your location, would you consider organising one?  We'd love to hear from you!

Mentoring Programme Pilot

Our mentoring evenings being held in Christchurch and Dunedin in March have been cancelled due to COVID-19. However, CMFnz is acutely aware of the importance of support structures in this time of great need. Consequently, we are looking into the possibility of creating connections between doctors and students online and via phone.

So if you live in Christchurch or Dunedin, and if you are a medical student or junior doctor keen to be supported by senior Christian medical colleagues, or a senior clinician keen to support junior Christian medical colleagues please email jeremy.baker@cmf.nz to register your interest.

The purpose of this pilot mentoring programme, being set up by Dr Jeremy Baker, is to link medical students and junior doctors with senior clinicians and provide a platform for discussion about anything and everything - but especially about faith and how it relates to medicine. Ultimately, we hope that experienced clinicians will be able to journey with younger colleagues and provide support during what can be a challenging and lonely time.
